So, anyone here know Stephenie Meyer, the greatest author in the whole world?
Just wondering if any of you have read any of her books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, The Host).
If you have, then lets totally squeal like obsessed fangirls and chatter on about how much we love the characters! xD

i am sorry, my friend, but i am going to have to just say EW. ew ew ew ew ew ew ew. i am one of those annoying, few people in the world that HATES Meyer's novels. any literature expert knows that her books are totally lame. bella is the BIGGEST mary-sue the literary world might ever see, and the characters are uninteresting and bland. sure, her books are entertaining, i'll give you that. that's why so many people like them. but they are like mcdonald's books - you can't stop reading them, and when you're done, you get the mcshivers, the mcstomachaches, and all that nasty jazz because they're so poorly written. the fact that she's compared to Rowling is disgraceful. at least Rowling has some development and depth to her books.

WRONG. ...xD I dispise both Jo and Meyer.
But I call Rowling, Jo, so I like her better. Before I would've weighed internet authors more credit than those in the real world. But that's because I'm suffocated with School and my books are Warriors, and Tolsoy and Nabokov right now. Not even Warriors so much, because I read them all. ...And have them all. Because I went through the whole, 'OMG TALKING CATS AND CLANS AND WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW' phase.
But, Clyde, I did read Meyer's books, but that's because I like reading stuff for the lolz's. Which is why I hang 'round Encyclopedia Dramatica half of them time as well. Back to Meyer, she has no idea how to Un-Sueify her character. Suiefy, should be a real word and all that.
Darren Shan's books are better. xD Not by a huge, huge amount, but better. Also, Kate 'Yournotoneofthefew.' I'm a 'for the fandom, or lack thereof' member of the Harry Potter and Book Subfourms, [and not a geek because sometimes they have good recommindations and pairing up people is too much fun.] and yar, a lot of people hate them. They're just never around you. xDD
I talk too much.

. . .
Bah. xD
Nevermind then.
Sorry if I can't really expand on this topic anymore, cause I don't like hearing anything bad said about the books (call me a fool or whatever you like), so I'd rather let you have your opinions and move on. =P

Has anyone read anything by Libba Bray? They're a bit girly, but I like 'em nonetheless.
*fears onslaught that accompanied mention of Twilight*

libba bray, for me is....intruiging. i read a great and terrible beauty over the summer, and i thought it wasn't bad, but it wasn't a true piece of awesomeness either.
the biggest problem i have with meyer is that her characters are horribly developed, unbelievable, and mary sue's. {ehem BELLA.} but for me, bray was alright. her characters could use some work, and i thought that the book went from really good to 'eh' by the end, but there was still a lot of work that she put into them, and i saw that. i like the concepts, but i think they could be improved.
...i'm a Clement-Davies fan. the sight, anyone? fire bringer? xD

Oh my gosh, YES! I absolutely love The Sight and Firebringer! They are one of my favourite books of all time, right next to The Hobbit, which I enjoyed tremendously as well. xD Anyone heard of the new Ink Exchange and Wicked Lovely? I've heard they were good, and wanted to get some feedback.

Meyers is great but this Libby one sounds interesting. I'd try her stuff but I'm still on Sergi Lukyanenko's Night Watch trilogy. Anyone read those?
